posted 05/02/2012 Cheerleaders cheer at selected games played by the independent Indian Hill Youth Football Club. Cheerleading is an Indian Hill Recreation Commission sponsored sport.
The Indian Hill Youth Football Club is not affiliated with the Recreation Commission. They play their games on the artificial turf in an agreement with the Indian Hill Schools.
PURPOSE: To give boys and girls another fall sport option
AGE: 1st through 6th grade, 2012-2013 school year
SIGN-UPS: Will begin May 12. A fitting session for uniforms will be held on Saturday, May 12 from 9:00-12:00 at the Recreation Commission Office. That office is located in the white house (the Phinney House) across the driveway from the red brick administration building.
2012 CHEERLEADING COSTS:
1)
Recreation Fee = $30.00
2)
Uniform = $70.00 (required for new cheerleaders; top and skirt. Returning cheerleaders will use last year's uniform assuming sizing is still appropriate. Some returning cheerleaders may have a used uniform they would be willing to sell to new cheerleaders. Please see Jack Alley for details.)
3)
Accessory Pack = $20.00 (required for new cheerleaders; this includes turtleneck, briefs, socks, and poms)
4) Optional for everyone:
Monogrammed Bag = $20.00
INSTRUCTION:
We will need at least 2 parent volunteers for each squad, no experience necessary. The girls will all be taught the same material so that parents can help with more than one squad. As a volunteer, you will be given a booklet that contains all of the material that is taught so you simply need to use it to "prompt" them at games.
OBLIGATIONS:
-
If possible, attend a free 5 day camp at the IH Elementary School gymnasium from 9:00-11:00 Monday through Friday in early August (DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED) to begin learning material. (Please wear gym shoes, gym attire, bring a water bottle and a small snack!)
-
Practices are twice a week through the season (either Mon/Wed or Tue/Thur) at 5:00 PM at Stephan Field.
-
Cheer for games on the weekends. (Typically 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders cheer on Saturdays ... 5th and 6th graders cheer on Sundays.)
MATERIAL: Emphasis for these age groups will be on proper technique, cheers, chants, dance, and jumps.
